Installation of eWebEditor

Installation of eWebEditor is so easy that all you have to do is just to upload all files in the compressed package to server.

Uploading the Files

You should have downloaded the eWebEditor zip file from our web site after you paid for your order. Use an unzip program such as WinZip to extract the files to a temporary directory on your PC, such as c:\myTemp. Once extracted, you should move them into the c:\myTemp directory using Windows explorer. You should see a directory called "ewebeditor".

You now need to FTP into your web server and upload the "ewebeditor" directory into any directory of your choice.

After your FTP program has finished uploading the files, eWebEditor is ready to test, which is what we will look at next.

Testing eWebEditor

Now suppose you have uploaded the "ewebeditor" directory to the root path of your WEB server.

Test by visiting the demo program files provided to see if eWebEditor can run normally. The following is the home page address for examples provided by system.

http://www.yoursite.com/ewebeditor/_example/default.asp(.aspx/.php/.jsp)

The system provides you several sample programs which explain various applying methods respectively. By links to the homepage of sample programs, you can test each program example to see whether it runs normally. If it shows normal information in content editing without any error indicating, it means eWebEditor has been installed successfully.

Congratulations, your setup of eWebEditor was a success!

Note: If buttons are not working or you cannot edit the contents of the control, then make sure you are using Internet Explorer v5.5 or above on a Windows PC with JavaScript enabled.
